Jessica Walsh started Ladies, Wine & Design in New York after doing a lot of thinking and reading on why there are so few female Creative Directors. She believes we can create change through mentorship and championing each others' work. As a young female creative who aspires to become a Creative Director, I couldn't agree more. I also think it would be fun to meet other lady creatives, so I reached out to Jessica and 'Ladies, Wine & Design - Adelaide' was created.

I've noticed there are many women who study design, but a much smaller number go on to become industry leaders. There are also a large number of ladies who want to make the shift into creative industries, but feel unsure how to. I hope that 'Ladies, Wine & Design' can become a platform where women feel comfortable to share their ideas, goals, struggles and achievements; and from here we will support and encourage each other to ensure there are more female creative industry leaders in the future. I've included some links about why I think this is important.

Numbers show that there's a very small percentage of women leading the creative industry. However, we find the people we're inspired by most are often other talented ladies. Here are a few women I've have admired, worked with, or had my eye on! Email me if you want to nominate someone for this list, especially if they are Australian.
