Apple, PepsiCo, Johnson & Johnson, Philips and Hyundai all have Chief Design Officers. For many years, design was considered decorative, and in many cases, still is – but the corporate world is slowly coming to understand the role design plays in innovation and tangible business success.

July 12, 7:30pm Designer as Author

As designers we don’t need to only make other peoples' brands look great. We can develop our own content & ideas and use design as a means rather than an end. Exploring the topic of 'Designer as Author', how do we create, share and document our ideas?

August 15, 7:30pm Utopia vs Dystopia

Design can be an agent of change. It can catalyze new ways of thinking, help us analyze and understand what is currently happening, and be used to develop solutions that work to our advantage. How has design and design thinking contributed to our overall growth? Is it utopic or dystopic?

October 17th, 7:30pm Service & Experience Design

User-experience and consumer-functionality are two key considerations in designing any product. To what extent are they taken specifically in the service and experience design fields? How do we create meaningful and useful products?

Jessica Walsh started Ladies, Wine & Design in New York after doing a lot of thinking and reading on why there are so few women creative directors. She believes we can change that through mentorship and championing others' work. We couldn't agree more, and we also think it would be fun to meet other lady creatives, so we reached out to her and Ladies, Wine & Design Dubai was born.
