Ladies, Wine &
a bit of Design
A conversation series
founded by Jessica Walsh and hosted in Atlanta by Isa de Frutos
A salon night connecting creative ladies in Atlanta. We’ll wine, dine, and have casual conversations on a wide variety of topics relating to creativity, business, and life. Most events are free and reservations are first come, first served. If you’re a female student or creative and would like to join, please sign up here. Additionally, please get in touch if you'd like to collaborate, host us in your space, teach a workshop, or be a guest speaker.
June 26th, 8pm-10pm
Join us at City Winery as we discuss how to transform ideas into successful businesses. We will be joined by the talented entrepreneur Nina Nikomid who will walk us through the launch of her agency, struggles, and success stories.
August 15th, 7pm-9pm
Nina Nikomid is a branding and marketing expert and one of the founding partners of the Atlanta based agency Metafour.
What does it take to see something all the way through? Could your passion project become your dream job? In this chapter our special guest @Scarletonthetile will tell us all about how to build an empire out of cosplay, live-streaming and social media.
October 23rd, 7:00-9:00pm
@Scarletonthetile is a self-taught designer who, by imagining and creating her own costumes, has become a well-known influencer in the gaming and cosplay world.
How do you stay creative outside of your day job? Where do you get inspiration from? Is there a happy place for design in Atlanta?
Join us at MODA Museum for a private guided tour of their fall exhibition. Laura Flusche, MODA's Executive Director, will show us around and unveil some behind the scenes insights about the only museum in the Southeast dedicated exclusively to the study and celebration of design.
What inspires you? How often do you feel inspiration? How do you find inspiration? What is your creative process? How do you know you've got a good idea?
Art director? Designer? Illustrator? Do you want to specialize, or generalize, or are you unsure? Let’s talk about the pro’s and con’s of both directions.
Design & Business
For young designers who want to start their own design studio one day, let's talk about business.
City Winery Atlanta
AIGA Woman's Business Initiative
Ladies, Wine Design was started by Jessica Walsh when she realized that sometimes women can be competitive or unsupportive of one another. Only a small percent of creative directors are women, and LW&D wants to help change this through mentorship circles, portfolio reviews, talks, and creative meet-ups. Up to date, we've spread to chapters in over 250 cities all over the world. Have a look at the global page here.
Here are a few women we have admired, worked with, or had our eye on! Email us if you want to nominate someone for this list, especially women in Atlanta.
