Ladies, Wine & Design

Ladies, Wine &
a bit of Design
in Milwaukee

A conversation series for Milwaukee creatives

A salon night held monthly for a small group of creative ladies in Milwaukee. We'll wine, dine, and have casual conversations on a wide variety of topics relating to creativity, business, and life. If you're a female student or creative and would like to join, please email us. It's free and reservations are first come, first serve.

If you'd like to host us in your space, teach a workshop, or lead a discussion, please get in touch! We'd love to hear from you.

Oct 3, 7pm (2017) Opening Night

Welcome to LW&D Milwaukee! Let's share our experiences within the Milwaukee design community. What would you like our LW&D chapter to accomplish? At this event we will brainstorm the overall vision for this conversation series.

Location: Fuel Cafe in Walker's Point

Nov 7, 7pm (2017) Inspiration

Let’s talk about your creative process and how you find inspiration. Where do ideas come from? How do you start a process in order to come up with a good idea? What designers or recent designs do you find inspiring? Feel free to bring an example of someone else’s work or your own to discuss.

Location: La Masa Empanada Bar.

Dec 5, 7pm (2017) The Milwaukee Design Landscape

What’s out there? What makes us unique? We’ll discuss our city and how we can be involved (and improve upon) the current design landscape.

Location: Balzac Wine Bar.

March 28, 7pm (2018) Goals

To kick off the new year let's talk about goals (I know, I know - it's already March).

What are your goals this year? Did you achieve any last year and how did you do it? How do goals factor in to your creative process?

Location: Balzac Wine Bar.

April 24, 7pm (2018) Social Media

Should social media be kept personal or used for work? How can it be used to promote your work, gain feedback from others, and network? Lets discuss!

Location: TBD

Jessica Walsh started Ladies, Wine & Design in New York after reflecting on why there are so few women creative directors. She believes we can change that through mentorship and championing others' work. We couldn't agree more, so we started the Milwaukee chapter.

Numbers show that there's a very small percentage of women leading the creative industry. However, the people we could be most inspired by most are other talented ladies. A list of some of those ladies is going to go here, with your help. Email us if you want to nominate someone for this list, especially women in Milwaukee.
